Role Overview:
Seriti is seeking a Protection Officer to join their Klipspruit New Largo operations in Mpumalanga. This role is pivotal in ensuring the protection of company assets, employees, contractors, visitors, and facilities. The Protection Officer will also be responsible for maintaining the safety of security personnel.
Key Responsibilities:

Security Personnel Oversight:
-
Ensure that security staff is deployed according to requirements.

Supervise the execution of security duties in line with established standards and procedures.

Incident Management:
-
Report security incidents immediately and conduct necessary investigations.
-

Ethical Standards and Confidentiality:
-
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of the role.
-

Operational Security:
-
Ensure security areas such as control rooms, armed response units, drones, and security systems are functioning optimally.

Communication & Reporting:
-
Maintain positive communication within the security team.
-
Share essential information such as safety bulletins, feedback from inspections, and risk assessments.

Inspections & Parades:
-
Conduct security parades, inspect guardhouses and security equipment, and report deviations.

Requirements:
-
Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF Level 4).
-
National Advanced Certificate or equivalent (minimum 2 years).
-
PSIRA Registration: Minimum Grade B.
-
Valid Firearm Competency Certificate.
-
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Protection Services/Security or a similar role.

Security Knowledge:
-
Experience in CCTV, alarms, and security systems.
-
Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the Criminal Procedures Act, Mine Health and Safety Act, and others.

Skills:
-
Report writing skills.
-
Computer literacy.
-
Valid driver’s license.

Certifications:
-
Must be in possession of or able to obtain a Certificate of Fitness.

Advantageous Qualifications:
-
National Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Security-related field.

Investigation Experience: In-depth knowledge of investigations.
-
Team Supervisory Experience: Preferably in the Mining industry.

Safety Course S1.
-
Security Best Practices Knowledge.
