Job Description

The Junior IT Support Technician provides first-line technical support and maintenance for desktops, laptops, hardware, and software. This role ensures end-users remain productive by resolving basic technical issues and supporting IT systems across the Head Office, Parts Distribution Centre, Retail Head Office, and IMF dealer network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to helpdesk tickets, emails, and calls related to IT support requests

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals

  • Set up new user accounts, emails, and access permissions

  • Support software updates, patches, and antivirus deployment

  • Document issues, solutions, and work performed in the helpdesk system

  • Escalate complex incidents to senior IT staff as required

  • Provide basic technical training and guidance to users

  • Maintain IT equipment and asset inventory

  • Follow IT policies, procedures, and data security protocols

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Matric certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent; additional IT certifications are advantageous

  • Basic knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications

  • Understanding of computer hardware components and basic networking concepts

  • Prior experience in a similar IT support role is desirable but not required
