Position Overview
St Stithians Boys’ College is seeking a passionate and skilled Dramatic Arts Teacher to join their team. This role is available for a one-year contract starting on 1 January 2026 and ending on 31 December 2026. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach Grade 8 and Grade 9 Dramatic Arts, provide guidance for the extra-curricular dramatic arts program, and contribute to the school’s cultural and academic environment.

Academic Qualifications:
-
A Bachelor’s Degree in Dramatic Arts/Performing Arts (or equivalent).

Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or in the process of completion.

Passion & Expertise:
-
A strong passion for Dramatic Arts and a solid understanding of adolescent boys’ development.
-
Ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and other stakeholders.

Experience & Skills:
-
Experience teaching Grade 8 & 9 Dramatic Arts.
-
Knowledge and skills in theatre management (lighting & sound) will be an advantage.

Ability to prepare students for practical assessments and manage after-hours work for performances and rehearsals.

Tech Integration:

A willingness to integrate IT into teaching and learning.

Must be SACE registered and provide a sexual offender’s clearance certificate.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Assessment:
-
Teach Dramatic Arts to Grades 8 and 9.

Prepare students for practical assessments at the end of each term.

Extra-Curricular & Events:

Provide guidance and support to students involved in the extra-curricular Dramatic Arts programme.

Assist in the preparation and staging of school performances, including after-hours and weekend work.

Actively participate in the school’s co-curricular activities.

Commit to the school’s all-round ethos, including pastoral care and inclusion.
