🎯 Job Purpose
The Lecturer – English will:
- Deliver lectures based on module requirements
- Prepare and support students for assessments
- Identify and assist at-risk students
- Contribute to assessment development
- Support academic performance tracking and analysis
📝 Key Responsibilities
📚 Teaching & Learning
- Deliver engaging lectures aligned with module pacing
- Support students academically and provide feedback
- Update and manage the Learning Management System (LMS)
📊 Student Support & Monitoring
- Identify at-risk students and provide support
- Monitor student participation and assessment submissions
- Assist with tracking academic performance
🗂️ Academic Development
- Develop and review assessments with the Central Academic Team
- Analyse student results and improve module outcomes
- Participate in academic meetings and faculty activities
🎓 Professional Development
- Complete academic development programmes annually
- Contribute to improving teaching and learning practices
🎓 Minimum Requirements
- Degree / Honours / Master’s in English
- 2–3 years:
- Lecturing or formal tutoring experience
- 1–3 years industry experience (advantageous)
- Must hold a qualification one NQF level higher than the level being taught
- Academic transcript required
