About the Role
Emeris Nelson Mandela Bay Campus is seeking Part-Time Lecturers for the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Computer Science.
Modules include:

Computer and Information Systems Security
-
Mathematical Principles for Computer Science (Mathematics to third year required)
-
Computer Programming
-
Network design, infrastructure, architecture, and security
The role involves delivering lectures, engaging students, and contributing to academic and professional development activities aligned with the institution’s high standards in teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
-
Prepare and deliver lectures, facilitating active learning in line with module requirements.

Update the learning management system and provide feedback to students.

Support students in formative and summative assessments; monitor engagement and identify at-risk students.
-
Participate in academic meetings, development workshops, and professional development interventions.
-
Contribute to the improvement of teaching practices and the overall student experience.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
-
Honours degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computing, or Engineering (with IT, Data/Telecommunications, or related modules).

Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with modules to the third-year level plus a postgraduate diploma in a related field or in education.
Minimum Work Experience
-
1–2 years lecturing or tutoring experience advantageous.

1–3 years industry-specific experience in programming or software development advantageous.

Proven experience in programming or application development.
Working Conditions
-
Part-Time, on-campus classes scheduled 08:20 – 16:40, Monday to Friday.

Working hours depend on assigned modules.
