About the Role
The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) Varsity College, Sandton Campus, is seeking a Part-Time Lecturer to teach Afrikaans First Additional Language within the Education faculty.
This role involves lecturing and facilitating modules such as Teaching Intermediate Phase English First and FAL 1 and 2. The successful candidate will join South Africa’s leading private higher education provider, renowned for its academic excellence and accredited qualifications.
Duties & Responsibilities

Deliver lectures and tutorials in Afrikaans First Additional Language.

Prepare and present course content effectively to students.

Assess and provide feedback on assignments and examinations.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

B.Ed. Honours Degree or Honours in Afrikaans / Humanities / Arts / Social Sciences,
or a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (NQF Level 8) in IP/SP/FET/HE. -
Undergraduate or postgraduate qualification must include a module on Teaching and Learning/Pedagogy.

Qualification must include Afrikaans as a major subject (up to 3rd year level) or Afrikaans Didactics in PGDip.
Minimum Work Experience

Proven teaching or lecturing experience in Afrikaans at Intermediate, Senior, FET, or Higher Education level.
Note: Teaching practice, internships, or assistantships are not counted as formal teaching experience.
Working Conditions
This is a Part-Time / Independent Contractor position.
