Role Summary:

The Librarian / Future-Ready Media Access Facilitator is responsible for promoting the academic progress and well-being of students through the effective management of library resources, enhancing access to information, and using technology to create an engaging learning environment. The role involves supporting students and staff in finding, evaluating, and utilizing resources to foster academic excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Use technology to enhance the effectiveness of the library, including web-based methods of improving technological access to information

  • Manage archiving, filing, and maintaining databases and reference information

  • Evaluate resources and find the best ones for addressing various student needs

  • Professionally search databases, internet resources, and catalogs to find required information

  • Communicate effectively with staff and students across all grades on campus

  • Maintain a broad knowledge of books and assist students in selecting books that align with their interests and reading levels

  • Stay informed on pop culture and current events to help facilitate student needs in the library

  • Foster a collaborative and team-based approach within the library environment

  • Ability to set clear expectations and goals for students

  • Deep understanding of future-ready libraries and how they can enhance student learning

  • Excellent preparation, planning, and organizational skills

  • Experience working in a formal school environment

  • A university degree in a relevant subject

  • Certified Teaching Status
