The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) operating under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The MQA is mandated by the Skills Development Act (SDA) 97 of 1998 to drive skills development within the mining and minerals sector (MMS). Its scope covers sub-sectors such as Coal, Gold, Platinum Group Metals (PGM), Diamonds, Cement, Lime, Aggregates, Sand, Diamond Processing, and Jewellery Manufacturing.
The MQA invites qualifying individuals to apply for an internship opportunity within its Stakeholder Relations Unit. This internship is only available to unemployed South African citizens who have never participated in an internship programme before.

Events planning, coordination, and reporting (forums, conferences, workshops, staff events)

Brand management of the MQA’s corporate identity

Publications (brochures, newsletters, annual report, internal communiques)

Media relations activities

Social media content creation
-
Intranet and website content management
-
Career exhibitions and related events
-
Management and updating of stakeholder database

Customer service via the CRM system

Frontline management (reception support)

General administrative tasks

Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 / Matric
-
National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Communications or related field
-
Added Advantage: Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Communications or related field
