Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) Internships 2025 / 2026

Stipend: R9,306.18 per month
Location: South Africa (various MQA units)

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is inviting unemployed South African graduates to apply for its Internship Programme 2025/2026. This structured programme offers graduates the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and professional exposure across different MQA business units.


Available Internship Opportunities

1. Quality Assurance Intern

Unit: Quality Assurance Unit
Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12

  • National Diploma in Human Resources Development/Management or Administration (NQF 6)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in the above fields will be an advantage

Exposure Areas:

  • Quality Assurance and Development Partners

  • Workplace Approvals (WPA)

  • Learner certification and management system

  • Quality Management System and document control


2. Skills Development and Research Intern

Unit: Stakeholder Relations Unit
Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Social Sciences, Commerce, or HR with Economics/Statistics (NQF 6)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in the above fields will be an advantage

Exposure Areas:

  • Workplace Skills Plans (WSPs) and Annual Training Reports (ATRs)

  • Skills Development Facilitator registration

  • Research and stakeholder liaison

  • Report writing and administration


3. Communication Intern

Unit: Stakeholder Relations Unit
Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12

  • National Diploma in Communications (NQF 6)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Communications will be an advantage

Exposure Areas:

  • Implementation of Communication Strategy

  • Events coordination

  • Brand management and publications

  • Social media, intranet, and website content

  • Customer service and stakeholder database management


4. Learning Programmes Strategic Projects Intern

Unit: Risk & Compliance Unit (Learning Programmes)
Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12

  • National Diploma in HR Management/Development, Business Management, Business Administration, Public Management, or Project Management (NQF 6)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in the above fields will be an advantage

Exposure Areas:

  • Administration of Learning Programme projects

  • Registration of learning programme agreements

  • Stakeholder liaison and customer service

  • Event organisation, filing, and document control


Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be South African citizens.

  • Must be unemployed and have never participated in an internship programme before.

  • Preference will be given to people with disabilities and White, Coloured, and Indian applicants in line with MQA’s Employment Equity Plan.
