ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP:
The Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP) is a National Treasury initiative aimed at developing qualified graduates for careers in local government financial management.
Interns will gain exposure to:

Municipal Budget and Treasury operations
-
Internal Audit and Risk Management practices
-
The Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), GRAP, and related municipal financial policies
-
A structured training programme that leads to a Municipal Finance Management qualification (as per National Treasury regulations)
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Applicants must:

Be female (only female applicants will be considered)

Have matriculated in the Garden Route District:
(Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, George, Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, Hessequa, or Kannaland) -
Hold a three-year Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced National Diploma (NQF Level 7) in:

Accounting
-
Business
-
Finance
-
-
Have good computer literacy
-
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
✅ Advantageous:

Qualification or experience in Internal Audit and/or Risk Management
INTERNSHIP CONDITIONS:

Candidates must sign both an Internship Agreement and an employment contract

Interns are subject to the Municipal Disciplinary Code
-
Annual increases will apply as per the South African Local Government Bargaining Council
