National Treasury Bursaries 2026

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the National Treasury Bursary Scheme 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • South African citizen.

  • Registered for full-time undergraduate studies at a local accredited University or University of Technology.

  • Achieved an academic average of 65% or above in the latest exams (mid-year/June 2025).

  • In the second year of studies or higher.

  • Demonstrate financial need (combined household income must not exceed R600,000 per annum).

  • Preference will be given to high-performing students with top grades.


Fields of Study Covered

The bursary supports students studying towards qualifications in the following fields:

  • BCom Accounting

  • BCom Economics

  • Diploma in Logistics

  • Degree/Diploma in Graphic Design


What the Bursary Covers

The National Treasury Bursary provides funding for:

  • Registration fees

  • Tuition fees

  • Accommodation

  • Prescribed textbooks

  • Monthly allowance


Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following:

  1. Completed application form (available here).

  2. Certified copy of South African ID.

  3. Grade 12 certificate and statement of results.

  4. Official academic transcript (1st-year mid-year/June 2025).

  5. Certified copies of parent(s)/guardian(s) IDs.

  6. Proof of income (salary slips) or affidavit if unemployed.

  7. Death certificate if parent(s) are deceased.

  8. Affidavit if parent(s) are not in your life.
