Northern Coal (Pty) Ltd is inviting applications from unemployed South African graduates for its 2025 / 2026 Engineering Internship Programme. This initiative is part of the company’s broader community development efforts to build local talent in Mpumalanga’s mining sector.
The programme offers hands-on industry training, mentorship, and career-building experience in one of South Africa’s leading coal-mining companies.
📚 Internship Fields Available
The 12-month programme offers internship placements in the following engineering disciplines:

Chemical Engineering
✅ Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:

Be a South African citizen aged between 18–35 years
-
Hold a National Diploma or Degree in one of the listed engineering fields

Be unemployed with no previous full-time experience in the field
-
Reside near the mine (proof of residence required via municipal account or affidavit)
-
Be medically fit and pass a certificate of fitness examination under the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)
