Role Overview:
The Packaging Team Leader is responsible for managing packaging shift teams within safety, quality, and efficiency parameters to ensure production targets are met. The role ensures that all products are packaged according to AB InBev’s quality process specifications and safety standards.
Key Outputs and Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance
-
Ensure the safety of all team members on shift.

Enforce PPE compliance and take appropriate action against non-compliance.
-
Ensure adherence to machine safety practices including PTW, LOTO, and SAM.
Quality & Production
-
Ensure all process checks are completed as required.
-
Maintain compliance with quality standards for packaged products delivered to the warehouse.

Solve problems for any out-of-control processes and escalate major issues to management.

Verify compliance with daily routines as per the Agenda of Routine.

Execute daily schedules including production, changeovers, cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance tasks.

Operate line equipment when necessary and provide hands-on support.
Team Management & Development
-
Train and verify the execution of operational standards.

Complete and hand over end-of-shift reports.

Ensure QFR, 5 Why, and Abnormality Reports are completed as required.

Facilitate planned training and manage team development through a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) plan.

Manage hourly employees’ work hours and resolve on-shift issues.
Minimum Requirements:
-
National Diploma (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Instrumentation).

Completed Packaging Traineeship / AB InBev Learnership / Artisan Training.

3–5 years factory production experience.

Demonstrated shift production experience.
-
Proven performance track record showing a disciplined work ethic and passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
