Position Overview:
The Part-Time Middle Choir / Elementary School (ES) Music Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging music education across the Elementary and Middle School levels. This role includes leading music performances, such as the Pretoria Campus Production, and supporting transdisciplinary arts-based learning.
You will create a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports students’ musical, emotional, and academic development while also promoting a strong culture of performance and appreciation of the arts.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach Music across Elementary and Middle School, focusing on choir and performance

Lead and organize Pretoria Campus music productions and events
-
Create intentional, inquiry-based learning experiences
-
Collaborate with colleagues on planning and curriculum alignment

Engage with learners, families, and the broader AISJ community
-
Participate in extra-curricular activities and school events
-
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
-
Maintain accurate records of planning, assessment, and family communication
-
Contribute to community-building and promote wellbeing through music and the arts

Fulfill general faculty responsibilities, including student supervision and team meetings
Qualifications:
-
Elementary teaching certification and a four-year degree in education (minimum)

Master’s degree preferred
-
Valid teaching certification relevant to the role
-
Experience teaching music in ES and/or MS (especially choir)

Experience in curriculum and assessment development
-
Experience in IB Primary Years Programme and/or Responsive Classroom (advantageous)

Proven ability to lead music productions and performances

Working Hours:
