Position: Part-Time Sanatorium Sister
Location: Bothas Hill, Outer West Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Part-Time Sanatorium Sister to join our healthcare team. The role involves working one day per week during Terms 1, 3, and 4, and two days per week during Rugby Season (Term 2), including a full day on Saturday.
Key Responsibilities:

Attend to daily clinics (administer prescribed medication, assess and treat acute illness, injuries, and wounds).

Arrange and assist with doctors’ clinics at the Sanatorium.

Attend to medical emergencies.

Treat and refer pupils with chronic or acute illnesses and injuries.

Record all pupil visits and treatments.
-
Book medical appointments (doctors, specialists, biokineticists, etc.).

Arrange transport for pupils to medical appointments.
-
Communicate and interact effectively with parents.
-
Manage pupils’ prescriptions with the pharmacy.
-
Manage impact concussion testing and follow-up.
-
Arrange and oversee first aid coverage for sports, including being present at rugby fixtures.

Assist with school insurance claims and processing related accounts.

Handle ordering and stock control of medical supplies.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Professional/Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).

Experience in a boarding school environment (advantageous).

Valid driver’s licence.

Dispensing licence (preferred).

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and day/night shifts.

Proactive, empathetic, and trustworthy.

Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook.

Passionate about the wellbeing of boys.

Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
