Herschel Girls School is seeking an innovative, passionate, and skilled Physical Education and Sport Teacher to join our dynamic team. We value physical activity as a vital part of holistic education and aim to develop high-performing athletes as well as lifelong participants in sport and wellness.


The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a relevant qualification in Physical Education or related fields (BEd, PGCE, BSc in Movement Education)

  • Be passionate about teaching Physical Education and sport from Grade R to Grade 7

  • Inspire and motivate pupils of all skill levels

  • Demonstrate strong administrative, communication, and organisational skills

  • Have experience or coaching ability in at least one of the following:
    🏑 Hockey
    🏐 Netball
    🏊‍♀️ Swimming
    🤽 Water Polo
    🎾 Tennis
    🏃‍♀️ Cross-country

  • Be committed to participating in the school’s extensive extra-curricular sports programme, including travel and weekend involvement

  • Promote a love for physical activity and healthy living

  • Be open to ongoing professional development

  • Have a well-developed sense of duty of care towards students and colleagues

  • Embody the school’s vision of “leading the education of girls into a future of limitless possibilities”

  • Commit to the school’s transformation, equity, and belonging (TEB) strategy

  • Support the Christian Anglican ethos of Herschel Girls School
