PIC Bursary Applications 2026

The Public Investment Corporation (PIC) is offering bursary opportunities for students planning to study the following fields in 2026:


Fields of Study:

  • Accounting & Accounting Science (CA stream)

  • Actuarial Science

  • Applied Development Economics

  • Cost and Management Account

  • Computer Science

  • Economics and Mathematical Science

  • Finance/Financial Management

  • Information Management/Systems/Technology

  • Internal Audit

  • Investment Management

  • Human Resources Management

  • Mathematical Statistics

  • Research

  • Risk Management

  • Bachelor of Law (LLB)


Eligibility:

  • South African Citizens not older than 25 years.

  • The bursary is for students intending to enroll or already studying for their first qualification at the undergraduate level only. No postgraduate or second qualifications will be funded.

  • Matriculants must have a minimum of 60% overall pass rate (mid-year results).

  • Tertiary applicants must have a minimum of 60% overall average pass rate of the most recent results.

  • Must be registered or accepted to study at a South African Public Accredited Institution of Higher Learning.

  • Applicants living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

  • Bursary applications will only be accepted from unemployed youth born and residing in these provinces:

    • Mpumalanga

    • North West

    • KwaZulu-Natal

    • Northern Cape

    • Eastern Cape

    • Western Cape

    • Limpopo

    • Free State

    • Gauteng

How to Apply:

You may choose one of the following options to submit your application:

Option 1: Complete the Online Bursary Application Form (MS Form).
Option 2: Download the application form and complete it manually.

After completing the application, email all supporting documents to bursaryapplications@pic.gov.za with the subject line: Full Name and Surname.


Compulsory Instructions:

  • All compulsory fields (*) must be filled.

  • Certified copies of all supporting documents (certified within 3 months of submission) must be submitted.

  • The application form must be signed by the applicant and their Parent/Guardian (if the applicant is a minor).

  • Incomplete application forms or falsified, uncertified, or invalid documents will not be considered.


Supporting Documents Checklist:

  1. Completed application form

  2. A copy of valid RSA identity document

  3. Proof of disability (medical certificate, if applicable)

  4. Academic transcripts (if currently enrolled at an accredited tertiary institution)

  5. Matric Certificate or Grade 11 & June results (if currently in Grade 12)

  6. Preliminary acceptance letter(s) from an accredited tertiary institution

  7. Proof of monthly household income and dependants (e.g., salary/wage slips, affidavit if unemployed, SASSA letter for grants, affidavit from self-employed, etc.)

  8. Death certificate (if applicable)

  9. Court letter or affidavit for child support (if parents are divorced/separated)


Bursary Terms:

  • The bursary is awarded for the full academic period at a single academic institution.

  • Awards will be in line with the PIC Employment Equity and Transformation agenda.
