Job Description:
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a store to ensure it runs smoothly and efficiently. The role involves leading a team, driving sales, managing expenses, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for customers. You will play a crucial role in executing business strategies, promoting products, and ensuring inventory control, all while maintaining excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:

Team Management & Staff Development:

Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise staff to ensure a high-performing team.

Lead and manage the team, ensuring they are motivated and aligned with store goals.

Sales & Profitability:

Maximise sales and profitability by setting and meeting sales targets.

Motivate staff to achieve and exceed sales targets.

Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance and create action plans accordingly.

Customer Experience:

Ensure customers have a pleasant shopping experience by maintaining high standards of customer service, including handling customer queries and complaints effectively.

Promote the store’s products and maintain up-to-date knowledge of fashion trends.

Inventory & Stock Management:

Oversee inventory management, ensuring stock is adequately maintained and stock losses are minimized.

Implement stock control procedures and conduct regular stock takes to ensure accurate inventory levels.

Budget & Financial Management:

Manage the store’s budget, including P&L, payroll, and daily financial records.

Ensure financial targets are met while managing controllable expenses.

Visual Merchandising & Store Presentation:

Lead the visual merchandising efforts to ensure the store’s layout and displays reflect current fashion trends and the brand’s aesthetic.

Ensure the store is clean, well-organized, and welcoming.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Maintain a safe working environment for both staff and customers.

Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.

Reporting & Administration:

Keep accurate and timely statistical and financial records for daily, weekly, and monthly performance reviews.

Loss Prevention:

Develop and implement strategies to minimize stock loss.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Grade 12 (Matric).

Experience:

3-5 years of retail experience with at least 1-2 years of management experience in a similar environment.

Computer literate with proficiency in business software and systems.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
