Job Description
SAHETI School, an independent co-educational English-medium school in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, invites applications for the position of Pre-Primary School Assistant. The successful candidate will join a dedicated and caring team, providing exceptional support and care to children in the Pre-Primary School (Grade 000 – Grade R). This role is pivotal in ensuring the well-being and development of children while adhering to the school’s safeguarding policies.

Duties Include

Assisting teachers in creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.

Supervising children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and routine tasks.

Supporting the implementation of age-appropriate programmes and daily routines.

Encouraging children’s independence and modelling positive behaviour.

Assisting with mealtimes, hygiene, toileting, and general classroom organisation.

Setting up activities in both the classroom and playground.

Assisting with Morning Care on a rotational basis.
Qualifications
-
Previous experience in an educational or childcare setting (preferred).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
A caring and professional attitude with a genuine interest in child development.

Ability to work flexibly and meet the operational needs of the school.

Basic First Aid training (advantageous).

A clear criminal record.
