School in the Woods is seeking an inspired Pre-primary Teacher to join our Pre-Preparatory team in January 2026. Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver an age-appropriate, inquiry-based curriculum fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.

Integrate nature and outdoor learning into daily routines, making the most of the rich natural environment of our School in the Woods.

Cultivate a nurturing and inclusive classroom culture where every child feels valued and supported.

Monitor and encourage children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, tailoring approaches to meet individual needs.

Collaborate with parents, guardians, and colleagues to provide holistic support for each learner.

Actively participate in school events, initiatives, and community activities that celebrate diversity and belonging.

Maintain high standards of classroom organisation, assessment, and reporting.
Minimum Requirements

Qualification: A four-year degree in ECD (Early Childhood Development) or Foundation Phase Education.

Experience: At least three years of teaching experience in a pre-primary or similar early childhood setting.

Pedagogy: Proven ability to implement inquiry-based and play-based learning approaches.

Tech Skills: Competence in using technology to enhance teaching and communication.

Values Alignment: Commitment to inclusive, child-centred education.

Personal Qualities: Adaptable, creative, organised, emotionally intelligent, and collaborative.
