🏢 About the Role:

Thorburn is seeking qualified Reaction Officers for deployment across multiple sectors:

• Mining

• Corporate

• Retail

• Education

• Residential Estates

You will report to the Security Manager and be responsible for ensuring safety through rapid incident response, patrolling, monitoring, and access control.

✅ Duties & Responsibilities:

• Protect employees, visitors, buildings, and assets

• Conduct regular patrols and inspect sites and equipment

• Monitor CCTV and surveillance systems

• Manage access control points (entry/exit)

• Respond to alarms and mobilize emergency services

• Enforce rules and regulations – warn violators and handle trespassers

• Complete detailed incident and patrol reports

• Provide assistance during emergencies (fire, theft, medical)

• Ensure firearm and vehicle readiness through preventative maintenance

• Maintain compliance with safety protocols and government regulations

• Deliver excellent customer service on-site

🎓 Minimum Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12) OR Grade 10/11 with 2+ years experience

• PSIRA Certification: Grade A or B

• Valid Firearm Competency:

  • Handgun

  • Shotgun

  • Rifle
    (For Business Purposes)

• Armed Response Certificate

• Valid Driver’s License

• Willingness to relocate if necessary
