Remedial Therapist (Independent Contractor) – 2026

Role Overview:

  • Provide tailored remedial support to Grades 3 to 7 students with diverse learning needs

  • Run an independent practice including billing parents directly

  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized remedial programs

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to support inclusive education


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct student assessments and develop intervention plans

  • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions in Literacy, Mathematics, and other areas

  • Write reports and maintain accurate student records

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings

  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed

  • Communicate regularly with parents and teachers


Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Education (Intermediate or Senior Phase)

  • Relevant Postgraduate degree/certification in Remedial Therapy, Special Education, or related field

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Preparatory School setting

  • Registered and in Good Standing with SACE

  • Strong knowledge of learning difficulties, assessment tools, and therapeutic interventions
