Job Advert Summary
AB InBev is seeking a Safety & Environmental Controller to support operational and line management in maintaining a comprehensive and professional Occupational Health and Safety System. The role ensures compliance with safety standards, legislation, and work practices to achieve targets set for the VPO Safety Pillar and Safety KPIs.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about workplace safety, proactive in identifying hazards, and experienced in driving safety performance improvements.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications

National Diploma in Safety Management or relevant qualification.

Qualification in Safety Legal Compliance.
Experience
-
12 months on-the-job training.

2–3 years’ experience as a Safety Facilitator or equivalent role.
Duties and Responsibilities
Compliance & Monitoring
-
Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and relevant safety, health, and environmental legislation.

Maintain a safe work environment and monitor safety practices.

Implement all blocks of the Safety VPO Pillar within the plant and associated wet depot/warehouse.

Conduct safety monitoring, audits, and risk assessments as per VPO standards.

Track leading Safety KPIs and support interventions to improve safety performance.
Incident Management & Investigation

Ensure all safety incidents and observations are identified, reported, and closed in Credit360.

Conduct investigations with line managers, identifying root causes and proposing corrective and preventative actions.

Develop and share safety alerts with operational teams.
Training & Awareness
-
Conduct safety induction for employees, contractors, and service providers.

Identify safety and legal training needs and coordinate training sessions.

Promote occupational safety awareness through campaigns, World Safety Day/Week activities, and internal communications.
Project & Asset Safety

Ensure safe execution of CAPEX projects and adherence to safe work practices.

Monitor site security and ensure contracted security providers comply with standards.

Manage contractor and service provider safety.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement

Develop and maintain safety documentation, SOPs, manuals, policies, and procedures.

Drive continuous improvement in safety performance, reducing incidents and injuries.
