    Stipend: Determined by the Divisional Commissioner: Human Resource Development (varies by province)


About the Programme

The SAPS Graduate Recruitment Scheme 2025/2026 is a 12-month internship programme designed to provide unemployed graduates and students with practical experience in line with the National Human Resource Development Strategy and the National Skills Development Strategy.


Who Can Apply (Generic Requirements)

  • South African citizen with a Matric/NSC or NCV Level 4.

  • No criminal record or pending cases.

  • Must be unemployed, never employed in the field of the advertised post, and never participated in a relevant internship programme.

  • Resident of the province where the post is advertised.

  • May apply for up to three (3) posts (separate form per post reference).


Internship Categories

  • Graduate Interns: Completed Diploma/Degree (NQF 6+, recorded on NLRD).

  • Student Interns: Requires in-service/experiential learning to complete a qualification (institutional letter not older than 2 years).

How to Apply

  2. Submit Applications: Post or hand-deliver to the relevant provincial address (check advert).

    • No faxed/emailed applications accepted.

  3. Include the Following:

    • Updated CV

    • Uncertified copies of SA ID, Matric certificate, and all post-school qualifications with statement of results

    • Institutional letter (if student intern)

    • Clearly mark post reference number & province on each application

Important Notes

  • Shortlisted candidates may undergo fingerprint screening, interviews, and vetting.

  • Only successful candidates will be contacted within 4 months of the closing date.

  • Successful applicants must sign a 12-month internship contract.

  • Internship participation does not guarantee permanent employment in SAPS.
