Generic Requirements:
Applicants must:

Apply using the official application form as determined by the National Commissioner.

Be a South African citizen (documentary proof required).

Be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of closing (proof required).

Submit to and pass a physical and medical examination.

Undergo and pass a psychological integrity assessment.
-
Hold a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent (proof required).
-
Be proficient in English and at least one other official language.

Be willing to take the oath of office.

Be willing to undergo required training.
-
Have no visible tattoos when in uniform.
-
Not be declared unfit to possess a firearm.
-
Have no previous or pending criminal cases.
-
Not have been dismissed for serious misconduct involving dishonesty, violence, sexual harassment, or drugs.

Consent to buccal sample and fingerprint verification.
-
Consent to background and vetting checks.
-
Be willing to serve anywhere in South Africa.

Additional Requirements:
Preference will be given to applicants with:

A valid driver’s license (light motor vehicle).

A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6 or higher) in:

Policing

Forensic Investigation

Other NQF Level 6 or higher tertiary qualifications.

Bachelor’s Degree admission

General Information:

All candidates will undergo fitness, psychometric integrity, and medical assessments.

Qualification, driver’s license, citizenship, and address will be verified.

Vetting includes social media checks, reference checks, and criminal record verification.

Dismissed former public servants for misconduct are ineligible.

Applicants with health conditions that interfere with training may be excluded.

Non-disclosure of medical conditions can lead to withdrawal from the programme.
