Job Description:
Cape Union Mart International is seeking a reliable, flexible, and responsible Service Desk Technician to field all calls to the IT Service Desk. The ideal candidate will be a quick, logical thinker with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in Information Technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Field and prioritize incoming IT support calls.

  • Escalate complex issues to second- and third-line support teams.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.

  • Identify and implement service desk improvements.

  • Work rotating shifts (Monday to Sunday) to ensure coverage during peak times.

  • Perform administrative duties related to incident management, ticketing, and reporting.

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a service desk or technical support role.

  • Retail IT experience advantageous.

  • IT qualification or relevant certification advantageous.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, POS systems, Oracle Retail, SAGE X3, or similar ERP software.

  • Understanding of computer hardware components and troubleshooting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
