Key Responsibilities:

Manage applications to the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) for examination dispensations and the implementation of concessions/modifications.

Manage and modify educational programs for pupils on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), as registered with the WCED.

Create, manage, and integrate supportive education interventions for all specific needs, including learning barriers and extension.

Monitor pupil progress in relation to the support and intervention plans.

Conduct classroom observations and psychoeducational or scholastic assessments.
-
Be part of a multi-disciplinary professional Educational Support Team.

Provide small group or whole class instruction on study skills, thinking skills, and executive functioning.

Offer ongoing educational and technical support to teachers of mixed-ability classes.

Staff training/professional development of teachers.

Coordinate internal referrals for academic interventions to an outsourced Educational Support Team.

Liaise with teachers and external therapists/referrals for academic interventions.

Coordinate meetings with parents of pupils receiving multiple therapies, as well as teacher case-conferences.

Manage and support facilitators in the SEN program.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Registered Educational Psychologist.

School-related experience in an educational support or leadership role.

Previous teaching or learning support experience.

Strong knowledge of inclusive and supportive education policies and practices.
