Purpose of the Job:

Medirite Plus Olivedale is looking for a Stock Controller to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained. The role involves accurately receiving and processing deliveries, facilitating the smooth flow of goods between the store, distribution center, and suppliers. The ideal candidate will have expertise in inventory management, particularly within the retail industry, and the ability to handle stock control tasks with precision and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive Goods Accurately: Compare incoming deliveries with invoices to ensure correct items, quantities, and conditions.

  • Capture Invoices on the System: Ensure that all received goods are accurately and timely captured in the inventory system.

  • Stock Management: Ensure that goods delivered are as invoiced in terms of quantities, variants, and conditions.

  • Processing Returns: Manage returns to suppliers, adhering to company SOPs and ensuring all processes are followed correctly.

  • Store Room Organization: Maintain an organized and acceptable store room to ensure efficient stock handling.

  • Control High-Risk Stock: Assist in managing and controlling high-risk stock and report discrepancies to the manager.

  • Handle Damaged Goods: Return any unordered or damaged goods to suppliers and complete credit notes in accordance with company policies.

  • Physical Labor: The role is physically demanding and includes lifting heavy boxes, offloading pallets, and other related tasks.

  • Additional Duties: Assist with other departments and duties as needed based on operational requirements.


Qualifications:

  • Essential:

    • Grade 12 qualification


Experience:

  • Essential:

    • At least 1+ years of relevant working experience within a retail or FMCG store operations environment, in a similar role.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Retail/FMCG Knowledge: A deep understanding of stock management principles and best practices.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in all stock-related tasks.

  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify discrepancies and take corrective action.

  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and Office 365.

  • SAP Knowledge: Familiarity with SAP systems for inventory management.

  • Numeracy Skills: Strong numeracy skills and excellent communication abilities.
