An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stock/Stores Controller to coordinate and facilitate the movement of stock through the implementation of pallet management systems. The role will focus on reducing pallet loss and damage, ensuring full costing control, and overseeing stock movement and stores documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 qualification.

  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Distribution.

  • Full Chep Function experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the existing pallet pool and implement a pallet management system tool to track, coordinate, and ship pallets.

  • Oversee effective pallet count systems to ensure accurate status of the pallet pool, reducing financial loss and shrinkage.

  • Prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry.

  • Check source documents for accuracy, ensuring that all data matches delivery, receiving, dispatch, and security schedules.

  • Verify and correct data where necessary.

  • Obtain additional information for incomplete documents.

  • Combine and rearrange data from source documents as required.

  • Enter data from source documents into the prescribed computer database and files.

  • Check completed work for accuracy and ensure compliance with data integrity and security policies.

  • Produce daily pallet summary reports, empty pallet and broken pallet reports.

  • Review and resolve any disputes raised on the pallet account daily.

  • Store completed documents in designated locations and maintain records of activities and tasks.

  • Respond to requests for information and provide access to relevant files.

  • Maintain own office equipment and stationery supplies.

  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints, both telephonically and by email.

  • Enter new customer information and update existing customer details in the system.

  • Escalate priority issues to management as necessary.

  • Produce weekly pallet count and provide it to your direct manager.

  • Persuade customers to return outstanding pallets and overcome objections.
