About the Programme
The Sondeza Afri-Youth Camp is a youth leadership and development initiative by Swartland Municipality, celebrating its 20th year in 2025. It brings together 50 Grade 10 & 11 learners from the West Coast and international countries for an immersive leadership experience.
This opportunity is ideal for young leaders and students in Education, Social Development, or Youth Work.

Camp Dates: 2 – 12 December 2025

Compulsory Training Dates: 14 – 15 November 2025 (in Malmesbury)

Number of Positions: 11 Youth Workers (4 Males + 7 Females)

Age Requirement: 22–28 years
-
Stipend: R1,200 + cell phone airtime
-
Additional Benefits: Free accommodation and meals during the camp
Requirements
-
Minimum Grade 12 with post-matric experience in youth work
-
A Degree or Diploma in Education, Social Sciences, or Youth Work is an advantage
-
Must be a South African citizen
-
Must have own transport to Malmesbury for training
-
Medium level of physical fitness required
-
Fluent in English (speak, read, write)

Previous participation in youth/community development projects is recommended

Prior involvement in Sondeza Camps is an added advantage

SAPS Name Clearance Certificate required at application/interview stage
