About the Programme

The Sondeza Afri-Youth Camp is a youth leadership and development initiative by Swartland Municipality, celebrating its 20th year in 2025. It brings together 50 Grade 10 & 11 learners from the West Coast and international countries for an immersive leadership experience.

This opportunity is ideal for young leaders and students in Education, Social Development, or Youth Work.

  • Camp Dates: 2 – 12 December 2025

  • Compulsory Training Dates: 14 – 15 November 2025 (in Malmesbury)

  • Number of Positions: 11 Youth Workers (4 Males + 7 Females)

  • Age Requirement: 22–28 years

  • Stipend: R1,200 + cell phone airtime

  • Additional Benefits: Free accommodation and meals during the camp


Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 with post-matric experience in youth work

  • A Degree or Diploma in Education, Social Sciences, or Youth Work is an advantage

  • Must be a South African citizen

  • Must have own transport to Malmesbury for training

  • Medium level of physical fitness required

  • Fluent in English (speak, read, write)

  • Previous participation in youth/community development projects is recommended

  • Prior involvement in Sondeza Camps is an added advantage

  • SAPS Name Clearance Certificate required at application/interview stage
