Job Description

Sun International is looking for dynamic and driven individuals to join their team as Tables Dealers. As a Dealer, you will be the frontline customer service point, responsible for facilitating the play of casino table games and providing exceptional service on the casino floor in accordance with company standards and gaming regulations.

Main Purpose of the Job:

  • Ensure the gaming area, table, and float are ready for play.

  • Deal casino table games (e.g., Blackjack, Poker, Punto Banco, Baccarat, American Roulette).

  • Handle player transactions, including bets and payouts (cash and chip transactions).

  • Monitor and report on guest play and actions on the casino system.

  • Provide audible and precise game commentary.

  • Secure and transport float and reconcile at the end of shifts.

  • Engage with customers by providing a warm welcome, addressing complaints, and educating them on the casino’s offerings.


Key Responsibilities:

Prepared Work Area:

  • Ensure the table, float, and equipment are ready for play.

  • Check the cleanliness of the station and report any equipment defects.

Game Play:

  • Deal various table games, such as Blackjack, Poker, Baccarat, and others.

  • Handle player bets and payouts, including cash and chips.

  • Report on guest play and actions through the casino system.

  • Open and close tables as needed and hand over to other dealers or inspectors.

  • Reconcile float at the end of shifts and handle cash-ups.

Customer Engagement:

  • Greet guests with a warm welcome and acknowledge their arrival and departure.

  • Provide professional service and resolve customer complaints and suggestions.

  • Educate customers on casino products, promotions, and services.


Job Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent national qualification in gaming operations.

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.

  • Competency in dealing blackjack and roulette, with participation in a practical Dealing School.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

  • Numerical skills (ability to perform calculations of large numbers).

  • Strong verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to handle chips, cards, and gaming equipment (manual dexterity).

  • Presentable and emotional resilience in a high-stakes environment.

Certifications/Accreditation:

  • Must meet all requirements for a gaming license.

Working Conditions & Special Requirements:

  • Ability to work shifts based on operational needs.

  • Work in a smoking environment.

  • Physical mobility to move around the casino floor.

  • Full visual acuity and manual dexterity required.


Preference Considerations:

  • Preference will be given to suitably qualified candidates from designated groups in line with the Employment Equity Act.

  • Candidates from the Mgungundlovu Communal Property Association (MCPA) and surrounding areas (Mbizana, Flagstaff, Mount Fletcher, etc.) will be given priority.
