Key Purpose Statement
To plan, deliver, and assess engaging Accounting and Business Studies lessons in a high school (college) setting. The successful candidate will guide students toward academic success and future-readiness, fostering personal agency and critical thinking in a dynamic, inclusive, and future-focused learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
🧠 Academic Delivery (40%)

Implement innovative, future-focused instructional strategies aligned with Crawford’s academic vision

Plan and deliver lessons that are differentiated, challenging, and engaging

Use technology and real-world examples to enrich learning

Provide academic support to individuals or small groups before/after school

Collaborate with peers for integrated curriculum planning and reflection
📝 Academic Assessment & Reporting (20%)

Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments

Maintain accurate academic records using STASY or personal tracking tools
-
Provide detailed student reports and data-informed learning plans
-
Participate in internal/external moderation and IEB-related assessments
👥 Student Behaviour Management (15%)

Establish classroom routines and high behavioural expectations

Support students’ emotional and social development through mentorship
-
Identify and refer students with learning barriers to relevant support structures
📣 School Brand Ambassadorship (15%)

Actively promote the Crawford International ethos and brand
-
Participate in open days, school events, and exhibitions

Mentor interns and new staff when required
-
Contribute to newsletters, yearbooks, and social media as needed
🗂️ Administration (10%)

Manage resources, plan excursions, and assist with substitution as needed

Ensure learning spaces are safe, functional, and aligned with 21st-century pedagogy

Follow school policies, timetables, and academic calendars efficiently
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) with specialization in Accounting and Business Studies
-
PGCE/HDE or B.Ed (FET/GET Phase – appropriate subject focus)
-
SACE registration (required)
-
Police clearance (required)
Minimum Experience
-
3–5 years of classroom teaching experience
-
3–5 years subject specialization in Accounting and/or Business Studies
Desired Experience
-
IEB curriculum teaching and matric marking
-
Familiarity with IB curriculum and inquiry-based learning
-
First Aid certification
