Future Nation Schools invites applications for a Geography and Social Science Teacher for the Senior and FET Phase (IEB), with 2–5 years’ teaching experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for raising the profile of Geography and Social Science, delivering high-quality lessons, and contributing to school development.
Core Responsibilities:

Raise the profile of Geography and Social Science in the Senior and FET Phase.

Ensure efficient use of resources, creativity, and innovation in lesson planning and implementation.

Deliver quality lessons and projects, achieving outstanding student outcomes.

Contribute to school development as part of a collaborative team.

Undertake duties as directed by the Head of School.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality of Teaching and Learning:

Provide excellent teaching and support colleagues to ensure high-quality delivery.

Deliver outstanding student outcomes and support colleagues in achieving the same.

Stay up to date with national developments in teaching methodology and subject knowledge.

Advise senior colleagues on teaching and learning policy and practice.
Staff Development:
-
Support, coach, and mentor junior colleagues and academic advisors.

Develop colleagues’ capacity to produce excellent teaching and learning resources.

Design and contribute to professional development activities.
General School Leadership:

Update Head of School, senior managers, and Governing Body on subject provision effectiveness.

Lead by example, achieving high standards in student attainment, behavior, and motivation.

Address underperformance within the team and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Bachelor’s Degree with Post Graduate Certificate, majoring in Geography and Social Science.
-
2–5 years’ teaching experience in Geography and Social Science in the Senior and FET Phase.
-
IEB experience is essential.
-
SACE registered.
-
Ability to provide learning support in and out of the classroom.
-
Willingness to engage in professional development.

Clear criminal record.
