About the Role
ADvTECH is seeking a dynamic and qualified Head of Afrikaans (FET Phase) to lead the Afrikaans department and inspire excellence in language education. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled Afrikaans teacher with leadership potential and a strong commitment to fostering student achievement and growth within a 21st-century educational environment.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, future-focused Afrikaans instruction for FET students

Lead departmental planning and curriculum implementation

Assess and report on academic progress

Uphold school behavioural standards and foster student development

Promote the school’s values and uphold its brand

Participate in school administration, safety compliance, and broader leadership duties
Minimum Requirements
-
Education: B.Ed. (FET) or undergraduate degree + PGCE with Afrikaans specialization
-
SACE registered and valid police clearance

Experience:

2–5 years teaching experience

2–5 years subject specialisation (Afrikaans FET)
