About the Role:
Curro Holdings is seeking a full-time Natural Science teacher for the Senior Phase (Grades 8–9) at Northern Academy in Polokwane. This role involves teaching and coordinating the Natural Science curriculum in line with Curro and IEB standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a dynamic learning environment that fosters student engagement, academic achievement, and skills development.
Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning & Delivery:
-
Plan and teach lessons using modern tools and approaches to ensure student academic growth.

Develop workbooks and track students’ academic progress.

Term Planning & Classroom Management:
-
Monitor and adjust the term plan based on class progress, assessments, and school activities.

Manage classroom dynamics, design the learning space for optimal performance, and maintain discipline.

Assessment & Homework Management:
-
Set up and manage both formal and informal assessments.
-
Supervise homework, ensure moderation, and provide feedback.

Extramural Activities & Outings:
-
Plan and manage extracurricular activities, fostering well-rounded student development.

One-on-One Support:

Offer tutoring and extra lessons to students needing additional support.

Qualifications & Experience:
-
Education:
-
BEd, BA, or equivalent qualification in Senior Phase Education.
-
Honours degree in relevant subject areas is advantageous.

Experience:
-
At least 2 years’ teaching experience in the Senior Phase.

Curriculum Knowledge:
-
Knowledge of the IEB curriculum is essential.

Skills:
-
Strong facilitation, problem-solving, and report writing abilities.

Excellent communication, organisational, and planning skills.

Other Requirements:
-
SACE registration is a must.

Clear criminal record.
-
Willing to work extended hours and on weekends when necessary.
