REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualifications:
    Three (3) year tertiary qualification:

    • National Diploma (NQF6) /

    • Undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF7) in:

      • Labour Relations

      • Labour Law

      • LLB

      • BCom Law

  • Experience:

    • Two (2) years functional experience in Inspection and Enforcement Services

  • Other Requirements:

    • Valid driver’s license

DUTIES:

  • Plan and independently conduct substantive inspections to ensure compliance with all labour legislation including BCEA, LRA, EEA, UIA, COIDA, OHS Act, and UCA.

  • Investigate and enforce compliance on reported cases of labour legislation contraventions; prepare and appear in court as a State witness when necessary.

  • Conduct proactive (blitz) inspections to monitor compliance; compile and consolidate inspection reports.

  • Plan and conduct advocacy campaigns on all labour legislation; analyse and report on impact.

  • Manage and oversee the finalisation of files and investigations conducted by inspectors.

  • Contribute at a higher level to the planning, drafting, and maintenance of regional inspection plans and reports, including compiling consolidated statistical reports.

  • Ensure referral of non-compliant employers for prosecution within the relevant timeframes.
