Purpose of the Role:
To ensure all manufacturing equipment is serviced and maintained according to specifications and good engineering practices, supporting smooth production processes and equipment reliability.
Minimum Requirements:

Matric / Grade 12
-
N3 Qualification or NCV Technical qualification

2 to 5 years’ experience operating production line machinery
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Repair equipment failures to restore functionality
-
Perform preventative maintenance to optimize equipment output
-
Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring failures
-
Complete job cards promptly with accurate information
-
Conduct daily machine inspections and report defects
-
Strip production machinery for cleaning, sanitizing, and greasing as needed
-
Work graveyard shifts and assist with production line start-ups, including Sunday night preparations
-
Ensure equipment safety and functionality of safety devices before work begins

Identify parts requiring replacement or additional maintenance work
-
Initiate improvements to equipment performance
-
Assist production teams with daily machine start-ups and set-ups
-
Organize and plan maintenance activities based on equipment repair needs

Cover electrical parts before cleaning machinery post-production
-
Adhere to Health and Safety legislation and company policies during maintenance

Check oil levels and perform lubrication according to specifications
-
Follow Quality and Food Safety requirements, ensuring compliance with SOPs and food safety protocols
