About the Role:
Curro Holdings is seeking to appoint a temporary Mathematics teacher for the FET phase at Northriding College in Johannesburg North. The teacher will be responsible for delivering Mathematics lessons to high school learners according to the Curro curriculum and will contribute to the knowledge transfer, skills development, and positive attitude building of the students.
Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning & Teaching: Plan and teach engaging Mathematics lessons using modern tools and methods, setting up workbooks and tracking academic progress.

Assessment Management: Develop, monitor, and adjust term plans as required, including exams, assessments, and ensuring differentiated materials to accommodate all learners.

Classroom Management: Create an optimal learning environment by managing classroom setup, discipline, and communication with students and parents.

Assessment & Homework: Administer formal and continuous assessments, supervise homework, and ensure moderation and revision.

Extracurricular Activities: Plan and assist with managing extramural activities and school outings.

Tutoring & Extra Lessons: Provide one-on-one tutoring and extra lessons to support student progress.
Qualifications & Experience:

Education: BEd, BA degree and/or PGCE in FET phase education (Honours in the relevant subject is advantageous).

Experience: Minimum 3 years teaching experience at the FET phase.

Curriculum Knowledge: Knowledge of the IEB curriculum is essential.

Skills:

Proven experience in facilitation, problem-solving, and report-writing.

Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

SACE Registration: Must be SACE-registered.

Criminal Record: Must have a clear criminal record.
