The Mvula Trust, a leading developmental NGO, is offering a 12-month internship opportunity for a recent LLB graduate to join as an Intern: Contracts & Compliance within the Operations Unit, under the guidance of the Manager: Contracts and Compliance.

Especially within the context of infrastructure development and the NGO sector.
Key Responsibilities
As an Intern: Contracts & Compliance, you will:

Assist with contract drafting, vetting, interpretation, and execution
-
Advise internal stakeholders on contractual and compliance matters
-
Liaise with clients, project managers, and finance teams on contracts and pricing
-
Maintain contractual records and correspondence
-
Support development of policies and SOPs in line with legislation
-
Assist in risk identification and mitigation
-
Attend stakeholder meetings and workshops
-
Provide legal opinions to prevent litigation
-
Gain practical experience with construction contracts and NGO legal operations
Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree
-
0–1 year of experience (graduates are welcome)

Basic knowledge of:
-
Interpretation of statutes
-
Contract law (especially drafting and interpretation)
-
Compliance and procurement law
-

Understanding of construction contracts is advantageous
-
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
