Job Purpose:
The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) is recruiting for entry-level Police Trainees. Applications are invited from young, energetic, intelligent, physically and mentally fit individuals who are dedicated to serving the City of Tshwane by pursuing a career in policing through the Metro Policing Training Programme.
Application Requirements:
Applicants must:

Have a Grade 12 certificate (proof required)

Possess a valid driver’s licence for manual vehicles and pass a departmental practical driving test

Have no criminal record or pending cases (fingerprint check at own cost)
-
Not be listed on the sexual or child offenders register or have been dismissed from a government position for misconduct
-
Be a South African citizen and resident of Tshwane (attach proof and affidavit if surnames differ)

Be between 18 and 35 years old
-
Be medically fit and submit a supporting certificate
-
Complete a physical fitness evaluation and assessment

Pass a psychometric assessment
-
Be proficient in English and pass a language assessment

Not be declared incompetent to possess a firearm under the Firearms Control Act
-
Have no visible tattoos when in uniform
-
Be willing to sign the TMPD Code of Conduct

Primary Functions:
Upon completion of training, successful candidates will serve as functional metro police officers to enforce the law, specifically:
