Minimum Requirements

Grade 10 literacy level (verbal and numerical)

Code EC driver’s license with valid PrDP (DGP)

Minimum 3 years’ experience driving an ultra-heavy vehicle
-
Must be 25 years or older
-
Defensive driving skills
-
Knowledge of vehicle component functions and locations
-
Ability to report emergencies and defects
-
Vehicle inspections and operating fire extinguishers
-
Vehicle loading techniques, including dry bulk tankers
-
Maximizing vehicle efficiency and cost-effectiveness
-
Prepared to work weekends and public holidays
Duties & Responsibilities
-
Prepare vehicles for trips and operate ultra-heavy duty vehicles
-
Load, transport, and offload goods safely
-
Handle required documentation and perform ancillary duties
-
Follow instructions from supervisors
-
Work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required
-
Maintain vehicles, uniform, and PPE
-
Adhere to SOPs and safety procedures
-
Ensure vehicle is not overloaded according to the National Road Traffic Act
-
Ensure the load is secured before departure
-
Operate or oversee offloading of goods safely
-
Open and close tarpaulins where applicable
-
Interact with customers professionally and efficiently

Successfully complete:

Medical evaluation

USCS training modules

Induction processes
-
Practical driving evaluation

Verification of clean criminal record
