About the Programme
Umzimvubu Local Municipality invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for its Graduate Work Exposure / Internship Programme 2025 / 2026.
Duration: 12 months (fixed-term contract)
Stipend: R48,027.24 per annum
Available Internship Opportunities
1. Intern: Information Communication and Technology (ICT) – x1
Directorate: Corporate Services
Requirements:
-
Grade 12
-
3-year Degree/National Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent
-
Strong communication skills
-
Ability to handle pressure and work in a team
Key Performance Areas:
-
Support end-users
-
Handle IT queries and troubleshoot ICT problems
-
Manage telephone and cellphone systems
2. Intern: Sound Governance – x1
Directorate: Corporate Services
Requirements:
-
Grade 12
-
3-year Degree/National Diploma in Public Management or equivalent
-
Fluent in English with strong communication skills
-
Computer literacy
-
Knowledge of Local Government
Key Performance Areas:

Assist in Records/Registry and Committee Services
-
Provide customer care and secretariat support
-
Maintain and update files
-
Assist with logistics coordination
3. Intern: Town Planning – x1
Directorate: Infrastructure & Planning
Requirements:

Grade 12
-
3-year Degree/National Diploma in Town & Regional Planning, Geology, Economics Development, or equivalent

Knowledge of Local Government
-
Strong computer literacy and problem-solving skills
Key Performance Areas:

Data capturing and land use surveys
-
Conduct site inspections and handle development applications
-
Assist in report preparation and coordination of planning functions
