About the Programme

Umzimvubu Local Municipality invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for its Graduate Work Exposure / Internship Programme 2025 / 2026.

Duration: 12 months (fixed-term contract)
Stipend: R48,027.24 per annum


Available Internship Opportunities

1. Intern: Information Communication and Technology (ICT) – x1

Directorate: Corporate Services
Requirements:

  • Grade 12

  • 3-year Degree/National Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to handle pressure and work in a team

Key Performance Areas:

  • Support end-users

  • Handle IT queries and troubleshoot ICT problems

  • Manage telephone and cellphone systems


2. Intern: Sound Governance – x1

Directorate: Corporate Services
Requirements:

  • Grade 12

  • 3-year Degree/National Diploma in Public Management or equivalent

  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills

  • Computer literacy

  • Knowledge of Local Government

Key Performance Areas:

  • Assist in Records/Registry and Committee Services

  • Provide customer care and secretariat support

  • Maintain and update files

  • Assist with logistics coordination


3. Intern: Town Planning – x1

Directorate: Infrastructure & Planning
Requirements:

  • Grade 12

  • 3-year Degree/National Diploma in Town & Regional Planning, Geology, Economics Development, or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Local Government

  • Strong computer literacy and problem-solving skills

Key Performance Areas:

  • Data capturing and land use surveys

  • Conduct site inspections and handle development applications

  • Assist in report preparation and coordination of planning functions
