🛠️ Duties & Responsibilities:
Daily Plant Inspections:
-
Perform inspections on various components like plant rooms, condensers, valve stations, spiral freezers, chillers, boilers, and air compressors.
Preventative Maintenance:
-
Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks based on work orders and time allocations.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
-
Identify and resolve issues related to utilities equipment such as ammonia and freon refrigeration systems, boilers, and air compressors.
Safety Compliance:
-
Adhere to safety regulations and PPE protocols related to ammonia handling, pressure vessels, critical valves, and other statutory requirements as per the OHS Act, SANS 10147, and other relevant standards.
Documentation:
-
Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

Develop quick fix routines, standard work instructions, and root cause analysis for breakdowns within areas of responsibility.
Operating Equipment:
-
Operate lifting machinery and other equipment required for maintenance tasks.
Quality Control:
-
Ensure adherence to quality, housekeeping, safety, and production standards.
Training and Supervision:
-
Assist experienced technicians and provide training to apprentices and assistants.
Emergency Response:
-
Obtain training in emergency procedures and safety equipment usage, including the “buddy-buddy” system.
Other Responsibilities:

Perform any other related tasks assigned.
