Role Overview:
The Utilities Machine Specialist creates and sustains a progressive learning environment for Level 1 and Level 2 teams by providing specialist technical support and training. The role focuses on maintaining and improving brewery utilities performance, supporting operational excellence, and ensuring safe, efficient equipment operations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Operational Support:

Provide specialist guidance to shift-based teams during operations.

Act as a functional expert in problem-solving to support Process Artisans.

Offer guidance and advice to shift teams as needed.
Planned Maintenance:
-
Contribute to maintenance planning meetings with suggestions and clarifications.
-
Execute planned maintenance tasks according to the schedule.
-
Participate in post-maintenance reviews to identify problems, opportunities, and learnings.
Routine Maintenance:
-
Perform cleaning, lubrication, and inspections as per maintenance schedules.

Address any issues uncovered during routine maintenance using appropriate problem-solving techniques.
Running Repairs:
-
Assist with running repairs on plant and equipment when requested.

Assess problems, determine corrective actions, and complete SAP documentation for repairs.
Problem Solving:

Apply correct problem-solving methods to resolve issues during maintenance.

Escalate complex problems to the Engineering Controller when necessary.

Support team members in resolving technical problems.
Improvement:
-
Continuously improve Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), SOPs, and maintenance tasks to prevent recurring issues.
Housekeeping & Safety:

Maintain a safe working environment and identify unsafe practices.

Follow AB InBev policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Apply 5S principles and maintain housekeeping standards.
Minimum Requirements:
-
N6 qualification / National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Trade Test qualification: Millwright/Fitter.
-
3–5 years’ experience in a utilities production environment.
-
Experience in utilities maintenance workshops.
-
CAT-B license with refrigeration experience.
-
Understanding of CO₂ purification, boilers, effluent water, chlorine, NH₃ plants, and reticulation systems.
