Purpose of the Role:
As a Datacenter Technician (DCT), you’ll play a critical role in staging, setting up, and maintaining Microsoft’s core data infrastructure. You will handle hardware deployments, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and decommissioning — ensuring reliable performance and uptime for Microsoft’s global cloud services.
Key Responsibilities

Perform hardware installations, setups, and decommissions according to standard operating procedures.

Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues efficiently with minimal disruption.

Conduct quality checks to ensure proper grounding, labeling, and cabling.

Escalate incidents to the relevant Microsoft data center operations teams.

Mentor and assist other technicians with complex technical tasks.

Participate in on-the-job learning and technical development programs.

Maintain a safe and compliant work environment following all safety standards.

Minimum Requirements
Education:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
Security Clearance:

Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
-
2+ years’ experience in IT equipment support or related field.

Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+ or Basic Structured Cabling (BSC).

Hands-on experience troubleshooting server hardware and cabling infrastructure.
