Position Overview:
Elkanah House Preparatory is seeking a Foundation Phase Xhosa Teacher who will create dynamic and enriching educational experiences. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and a passion for teaching, while also fostering partnerships with colleagues, parents, and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver inspiring and future-focused Xhosa instruction for Foundation Phase learners

Encourage individual talent development through literacy, reading, and numeracy integration

Maintain positive relationships with learners, staff, and families

Uphold professional integrity, discipline, and effective classroom management

Contribute to the following performance areas:

Academic delivery and student progress

Health & safety protocols

Qualifications & Experience:
-
NQF Level 6 undergraduate degree in ECD or B.Ed (Foundation Phase)

PGCE required for non-education degrees (e.g. Psychology)

SACE registration and valid police clearance
-
2–5 years of relevant teaching experience

Computer and digital literacy essential
-
First Aid certification preferred
