AVI Limited is offering an exciting SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) In-Service Trainee opportunity at its Westmead Biscuits factory in Pinetown.
This internship is part of National Brands Limited (NBL), a leading FMCG company in South Africa known for producing iconic biscuit brands such as Bakers® Tennis, Blue Label Marie®, and Choice Assorted®.
You will gain hands-on experience in workplace safety, health management, and environmental compliance within a large manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
As a SHE In-Service Trainee, you will:
- Assist in reviewing and updating OHS policies and procedures
- Support workplace safety awareness campaigns
- Participate in SHEQ improvement projects
- Assist with risk assessments and hazard identification
- Conduct site inspections and safety checks
- Support SHE audits (internal and external)
- Help monitor workplace safety compliance
- Assist with safety training and induction sessions
- Report safety concerns and hazards to management
- Support fire and security risk management activities
- Work with multiple departments on SHE systems and procedures
Requirements
Minimum Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management
Technical Skills
- Computer literacy (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)
