🧑🏫 Role Overview
Curro is looking for an FET phase Afrikaans teacher to teach both Home Language (HL) and First Additional Language (FAL). The role focuses on delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the IEB curriculum, while supporting learner growth academically and personally.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons using modern teaching strategies
- Develop and adjust term plans based on assessments and learner needs
- Conduct baseline assessments and recommend subject strategies/interventions
- Manage classroom environment, discipline, and parent communication
- Oversee assessments, homework, moderation, and revision processes
- Provide extra lessons and one-on-one learner support
- Organise and participate in extramural activities and outings
🎓 Requirements
- BEd or PGCE (FET phase)
- Honours degree in Education (advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years’ FET teaching experience
- Knowledge of the IEB curriculum
- Strong facilitation, planning, and communication skills
- Report-writing and problem-solving ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- SACE registered
- Clear criminal record
- Willing to work extended hours and weekends
