A mining operation in the North West is hiring a Protection Services Supervisor (Underground).
This role is responsible for managing underground security operations, protecting mine assets, and ensuring strict compliance with safety and security procedures.
You will supervise security teams working in high-risk underground environments such as shafts, tunnels, and explosives areas.

🔐 Security Operations
- Manage underground security personnel and operations
- Control access to shafts, portals, explosives areas, and ore systems
- Enforce strict access control (biometric, tag, and authorization systems)
- Conduct patrols and inspections of underground infrastructure
- Monitor movement of ore, equipment, and personnel
📊 Risk & Incident Management
- Identify and assess underground security risks
- Maintain a risk register
- Investigate theft, breaches, and misconduct
- Respond to underground security incidents
- Ensure emergency readiness and evacuation compliance
👥 People Management
- Supervise and deploy security teams underground
- Conduct performance evaluations
- Coach, mentor, and train staff

🎓 Minimum Requirements
To apply, you must have:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- PSIRA Grade B certification
- Firearm competency certificate
- Valid Code 08 driver’s licence
- Certification in Security Risk Management (advantageous)
- At least 3 years supervisory experience, including:
- Minimum 2 years in mining security
